Welcome To Treasure Island, Florida
T I Beach Bums of Treasure Island, Florida is published to inform, irritate and entertain the residents and anyone else who is involved in the wonderful world that is Treasure Island, Florida and neighboring beaches.
Treasure Island is a narrow sandbar that stretches for several miles along the west coast of Florida and is truly a piece of paradise on earth.
However, Treasure Island is governed by a City Commission seated by default. No one wanted to run for office so those with the smallest minds and largest egos were located to make our city government as laughable as possible.
The residents of Treasure Island are split into 3 factions. Those who know what is going on, those who don't have clue but think they do and those who just don't care as long as the bars are open.
We at T I Beach Bums falls into the latter category, especially on weekends. There are times that we do care about what is going on so we have listed the latest news stories from the local rags on the News Page and have added stories of our own making for your enjoyment.
We have chronicled life on the Island for the past eight years and seen a vibrant beach community run into the ground by a short sighted and incompetent City Commission which we love to make fun of. It is the goal of this website to give you a good laugh, something to think about while pointing out just how poor a job out elected officials and their cronies are doing.
